SpellTable
Troubleshooting Guide
Recommended Desktop Browser
Google Chrome
If you are not using Google Chrome we recommend trying it out and see if it helps solve issues you might be having. Each browser has its own way of dealing with camera/mic inputs and we've found that Chrome offers the best experience.
Recommended Mobile Browser
On Apple iOS you must use mobile Safari.
On Android it's best to use Chrome.
If your video stays black and you receive no error message
In this scenario it could mean a variety of things so first make sure no other apps are using your camera. Then make sure your browser is allowing SpellTable to access your input devices. And finally once you have confirmed those items restart your browser.
NotFoundError
This typically means the SpellTable is unable to find one or more of the selected input devices. Reconfigure your inputs and select a different camera or microphone and see if that helps.
NotReadableError
Multiple applications could be using your camera or microphone but some browsers will block SpellTable from accessing one of those devices if that is the case. Try closing all other applications that might be using your camera or microphone and try again.
OverconstrainedError
SpellTable attempts to use specific settings and some devices just can't support those settings. For example a setting could be a specific resolution. If you hit this error its best to try other devices if possible. If not, please reach out to support.
NotAllowedError
This error means that either your OS or browser is not allowing SpellTable to access one or more devices. Check that your operating system is allowing access to your camera and microphone and that it is giving permission to your browser of choice to have access as well. Next make sure that your browser's settings are also set to allow SpellTable to access your devices. Sometimes this could be a security setting in it's preferences or simply making sure to click "Allow" if the browser asks if you want SpellTable to access your devices.
TypeError
A TypeError typically means it's an issue on our end. Before reaching out to support please try different devices (if possible) to make sure its not hardware specific.
UncaughtError
If you hit this error please try different devices to make sure its not hardware specific. If that doesn't help please reach out to support.
